We’ve finally, finally, approached the eve of David Cameron’s Europe speech. It’s all written on bits of paper and everything.
With the ongoing hostage crisis in Alegria, this is beginning to look more and more ill informed.
We have a situation in which British citizens are being held, and the Prime Minister looks more concerned with his party’s obsession with Europe. Talking about repatriating powers, negotiation, and referendums at a time when he should be showing leadership looks very very poor.
Unless the situation is resolved by tomorrow morning, Mr. Cameron should cancel speaking. Voters will remember that their Prime Minister was playing politics, while their countrymen were being held hostage and murdered.
Time to show some statesmanship, before throwing your toys out the Pram on Europe Prime Minister.
